PRESENTATION OF THE AUCTC LIBRARY


MISSIONS

The cardinal mission of the AUCTC’s Resource Centre is to gather, process, store and make available to AUCTC staff and other researchers, varied and reliable documentary resources in the area of Terrorism and related activities.


ACCESS CONDITIONS

Access to the Centre is reserved for AUCTC staff. Prior appointment is required for other users. For any on-the-spot research or consultation, users are welcome every working day between 10h and 15h.

The Information Officer/Documentalist shall welcome you. He is charge of documented information, provides assistance on documentary research, guidance and consultation of the computerized catalogue. The user has free access to any documentation available in the reading room. In addition to the manual catalogue, there is a computerized catalogue in the Resource Centre for on-the-spot consultation from a computer installed for this purpose in the reading room.

Access to the multimedia computer found in the reading room is reserved for bibliographic and documentary research.

The use of USB pen drives or disquettes is done under the supervision of the Centre’s Coordinator. Using the computer for personal purposes and intrusion into unauthorized files are forbidden. Photocopies in excess of 10 pages are prohibited. Users are bound to comply with the law in force on intellectual property and copyright. Photocopying an entire book is forbidden.

Articles in specialized journals or in the local or international press may, upon request by the user, be obtained electronically.

The period for borrowing books and publications shall not exceed two weeks. Any book lost or damaged shall be paid for at its cost price (purchase price + expenses). Prior to borrowing any book or publication, a form, available in the reading room, shall be filled out by the borrower.


DOCUMENTARY RESOURCES

The AUCTC library was established in 2006. It boasts of publications edited by the AUCTC, more 1000 books and publications on Terrorism and related activities, about twenty geographical maps for on-the-spot consultation.

In order to better meet the needs of users, the library is subscribed to a dozen regularly published specialized journals.

Accordingly, in order to facilitate free access research, the reading room comprises 6 major modules presented as follows:

  4. AUCTC publications
  5. Archives RPF, Workshops, Seminars, Colloquia, training
  6. Maps
